Trademaster Data Sheet faq00009.html
Updating History Status
If you go to create budgets for Season 2 of a planning year and Trademaster tells you that there is no history data available, you are probably running an old version of Trademaster. When you start a new planning year, Trademaster asks for the historic year's data to be identified, so that that data can be used to generate new budgets automatically. It will then check to see whether actual results are available. Usually, some actuals will have been posted in Season 1, but not Season 2. If Variance Reporting is in hand in a season, Trademaster will use actual data for elapsed periods and budget data for the rest. If Variance Reporting is not in hand in a season, Trademaster will not use history to generate budgets for that season. This is often true for Season 2. In earlier versions of Trademaster, the status of Season 2 data in the previous year was only updated on demand, but in recent versions, the status is checked automatically whenever you create a Season 2 budget. If this happens to you, the long-term remedy is to upgrade to the latest version. This is free, just phone 01273 278171. There is a work-around however. From the Main Menu, select "Utilities" and then Set History File". Follow the instructions on screen and the status will update and history data will be available as appropriate. The current Trademaster version number (at 01/01/2005) is 2.06.33
