TM2 Display in Windows XP

Difficulties have been encountered in getting a satisfactory display when running under Windows XP, which will not set the full-screen display font size properly. There is no explanation for this in Windows documentation or on the Microsoft website. To obtain a satisfactory display proceed as follows.

Right click on the TM2 icon, select Properties, then the Screen tab. Set it to run in a window. Make sure the "Restore Settings at Startup" box is NOT checked. Then click Apply, then Close.

Run Trademaster by double clicking the icon. Trademaster should run in a DOS window, but it will be too small. Select your current file and display the Main Menu screen. Click on the C:\ which is at the extreme left of the blue bar at the top of the window, just to the left of the program title. You will get a menu, select Properties.

You will see a font selection box probably containing two fonts, Lucinda Console and Raster Fonts. Select Raster Fonts and pick 10x18 from the end of the list. Click Close and you will get a box up, check the "Save properties for future windows with same file" box and click OK. The window should resize.

The resulting window should be perfectly readable although not full-screen. If it isn't you could repeat the process and try some of the Lucinda Consol font sizes, starting with 20, but we have found these less satisfactory. It may depend on the actual machine you are running.

We will try to find out why the full-screen option doesn't work and will post more information on this site if and when we have it.
